Description	This locus defines a solid substructure consisting of terracotta tiles set in thin layers of mortar, which flanks the Corridor Locus 30. The mass consists of numerous stacks of tiles, and the size of the tiles used in the individual stacks varies. The thickness of the tiles within each stack also varies. This solid substructure supports the subflooring Locus 11B. Inspection of the construction, both from the exposed west face as well as during the excavation of Locus 30, suggests that it is solid throughout. This construction would not have allowed the area to have achieved the same level of heating as in the west area with its hypocaust tile columns and space for air circulation. This may lend support to the idea that this area east of the large doorway (Locus 3), represents an entryway into the main Hypocaust Chamber.
