Description A stone leveling course consisting of small boulders, wadi/field stones, and cobbles. It is tightly laid without mortar. The surface is relatively even, as comparative levels taken east west across the exposed surface indicated a mean variance of ca. 0.04 m. As the first leveling course beneath the W CP East floor pavers (Tr. 97, 2004, Locus 25), the locus has been assigned to Stage 4.
