Location North west corner of W CP East, beneath area of robbed pavers (Tr. 97, 2004, Locus 23).
Description This is a rubble construction foundation underneath the Middle Pier Wall (Tr. 97 Locus 28). It is a mixture of boulders, wadi/field stones, and tightly compacted soils. The top level of the foundation construction corresponds to the Locus 9 terracing course, and the top of the lower three courses of the Wall Locus 5. It is not articulated by courses. The soil portion of the compacted fill is more granular than the soil found between the terracing and leveling courses, and has a Munsell Color of 7.5 YR 4/4 (Brown).
