Description This is a fill locus containing both rubble and soil. The soil is a combination of silt and sand with a Munsell Color 7.5 YR 5/4 (Brown). The soil was compacted around a jumble of medium boulders, wadi/field stones, cobbles, and pebbles. The fill contained pottery, bone, and a piece of stone which might be a marble fragment. This stratum is the second thickest deposit in the sounding (cf. Locus 3).
