Description | Locus 30 is a roughly built wall of flat slabs and chips of limestone, sandstone and tile chinking. It is laid obliquely from southwest to northeast into the east and south balks of the trench, and, in fact, only about 2 m are currently exposed. It is assumed by the excavator that as Locus 30 extends southwest into Trench 32, it abuts or bonds at (nearly) a right angle with the other canalization wall Locus 8, since the latter extends from the southeast to the northwest. It is also assumed that the exterior (west) wall of the canalization is exposed, and to the east, the interior of the canal is still buried in the east balk. |
