Location 0.40 m east of the West Walkway Wall (Locus 6), bonded to the Ashlar/Rubble Fill of the Platform (Locus 3).
Description Locus 4 represents one of the most fascinating discoveries of Special Project 109. It is composed of one enormous ashlar (measuring almost 2.31 m in length) that was carved from sandstone/limestone. It is the original boundary of the Temenos Platform, and retains the Ashlar/Rubble fill of the Platform (Locus 3). It is unclear what it is set in, or how it connects with the Platform as a whole, however, it does represent the monumentality of the Platform construction, and indicates the west boundary of the Platform was originally 0.40 m to the east of where the West Walkway Wall (Locus 6) currently stands.
Definition West Boundary of Platform
