Definition Rubble/Ashlar Fill Building Up Temenos Platform
Description Locus 3 is the terracing that builds up the Temenos Platform. It is composed of rough hewn boulders, ashlars, and some rubble (particularly where the West Temenos Retaining Wall bonds with the Temenos Platform). The rubble/ashlar fill is composed of a mix of sand stone and limestone set in a dirt matrix.
Size 3.30 m north south-by-3.63 m east west with an extension to the south along the West Walkway Wall (Locus 6) measuring 0.90 m east west-by-1.10 m north south.

Stage Description Initial construction of Temenos Platform.
Bonds to Loci 4, 5, 7.
Phase Description Phase I: Preparation: 1st c. BCE subterranean canalization is installed and the bedrock leveled with a coarse yellow soil.
