Description Hard-packed cement or mud mortar layer, filling a cut or "trough" behind the pulpitum curb (see below), and sealing the base of the pulpitum wall and its niches. It is not preserved throughout the curb area, but only in patches. At its greatest extent, it is approximately 0.24 m in width.
