Description | Semi-circular niche, built into the central "block" of the south pulpitum wall (therefore, in the northwest of Trench 62). It is preserved to three courses, and is approx. 2.17 m in width; on its east side it is constructed in twobut this side includes a massive limestone block and is in fact as high as the sides built in three courses. The niche is 0.98 m in diameter, and not very well cut; it is flattened on its east side, and not a true semi-circle.
