Work began lowering the bounds between CB56 and CB53 to the north and CB57 to the west. The area around Stump F in the south and south east is also being levelled. In the course of this, a piece of vitrified terracotta (Special Find No. 1) and a piece of bronze (Special Find No. 2) were found in the north and a piece of slag (Special Find No. 3) was found in the south.

Shortly afterwards, a second piece of slag and two pieces of glass were found (Special Finds Nos. 4 and 5 respectively). The glass is very clear and may be modern despite its elevation due to bioturbation caused by Stump F.

Excavation continued using trowel and hand pick to focus on lowering the southern area of the trench. Incorporated in this was the removal of soil from around Stump F with pick, hand pick and trowel.

Work continued to remove Stump F, primarily with picks. Once it was taken out, soil betwen the roots and loose soil/debris were removed with trowels. A very small bronze fragment was found. (Special Find No. 7) amongst the debris encased in soil.

A pick pass was then done in the southern metre to level the area in the wake of Stump F's removal. A large piece of slag was found. (Special Find No. 8)
