Description | This locus, 2 m-x-0.6 m-x-0.9 m, was noticed as a disturbance in the floor pavers (Locus 22) between the platform for a wall (Locus 19) and the decorative stone border (Locus 24) between the stairways (Loci 16 and 18). The construction soil/fill consisted of an intermixed soil deposit with a gray component, Munsell 5GY 5/1, possibly ash and roof tiles. On the east side of the sondage, a line of leveling stones were reveled 0.40 m below the floor pavers (Locus 22). The fill between the leveling stones was a pinkish gray, Munsell 5YR 6/2, with small, wadi pebbles. |
