Stage Description Floor construction.
Description A layer of unhewn and rough hewn small boulders and wadi/field stones, tightly laid without wet mortar. The sections exposed to the north and south of the SP104 sounding are quite evenly laid, with a mean variance of approximately 0.02 m across its surface. This stone stratum corresponds to the leveling course for the floor pavers that was previously defined as SP105 Locus 2 (the difference between the opening elevations in both soundings is less than 0.03 m, well within the mean variance of 0.04 m recorded for SP105 Locus 2). The exact dimensions of the stratum in this area of the W CP East can not be given since it was not excavated during this sounding (for further details see SP105 2005 Final Report, Locus 2). During cleaning of the surface, a possible coin fragment was found nestled between two of the abutting stones laid in the leveling course.
Phase Description Phase V: Late Nabataean CE 1st c. redesign and repairs.
Preserved Height Unknown (not excavated).
Bonds to None.
Abuts Loci 3 and 6; Tr. 97 2004 Wall Loci 11 and 28.
