Description This locus is comprised of the threshold that connects the steps (Loci 1, 2, 3, 4) and the Nabataean floor (Locus 6). It is a single smooth faced paver of sandstone/limestone, set into dirt. It is bonded with cement to the west wall (Locus 7) to a depth of 0.03 M. It acts as the top step of the stairs, and rises 0.165m above the top step (Locus 4). It also acts as the first paver in the Nabataean floor (Locus 6), with which it sits flush. The threshold has a square doorpost hole on the west side measuring 0.11 m on the north-south axis, and 0.08 m on the east-west axis. The hole is located 0.11 m from the west wall (Locus 7), and 0.67 m from the east wall (Locus 18). See SP94 Locus 17.
