Description | Hard-packed surface, 10YR6/3 (pale brown), running between the three stylobates and to the interior of the East Exedra. It either represents a floor, a floor bedding packed hard by weight, or a working surface packed hard by the covering of gray mortar (locus 2) above. It is fairly levelespecially between the stylobatesbut slopes up slightly to the exedra, where it runs up to the central platform but under the late "bench." |
