Description | A rough bedding layer of limestone and sandstone flags and fragments, running n-s between and under the string course/plinth that underlies the west engaged column of the exedra and the south end of the western stylobate. It functioned either as bedding for the stylobate, which was robbed out at this point, or for the west edge of a floor laid out before the exedra mouth. Only the top was uncovered, but it does not seem to continue eastward beyond the line of the west stylobate. |
