Description | This platform extends south of the central niche and is built up against the interior face of the apse of the exedrait essentially forms an extension of the niche bottom. The structure, 1.63 m wide by .34 m deep, seems to abut the exedra wall, but more excavation will be needed to be certain of this relationship. The top courses, perhaps of red sandstone overlying white limestone, is battered and disintegrating. The lower course are of well-cut and laid sandstone blocks, curved to fit against the apsidal wall. About 1.65 m of the platform has been exposed, but the lowest courses and foundations have not yet been reached |
