The floor of the South-East Building was cleaned for approximately two hours. Random coarseware, orangeware, and bone was found in the fill, as well as tile and plaster.
The 60 cm cut was completed in Q-R/57 and S/58. U/57-58 was begun. Very little in terms of tile was found. Plaster is scarce. Interestingly enough, orangeware pottery, along with some impasto and redware, has become quite common. Several lip fragments to several different vessels have been found. Part of a handle to a large coarseware vessel was also discovered. Of particular interest is a fragment of, perhaps, a statue. A dozen pieces of bone were found.
P.M.
U/57-58 was cleared to a depth of 60 cm. Work was cut short due to bad weather. Finds continue to be badly worn tile, little plaster, bone, and orangeware.
