A.M.

The second cut, 40 cm from the surface at Q, was continued.  By noon, grids 58/Q-U had been cleared.  Small amounts of badly worn tile and plaster are found, but plaster continues to be relatively scarce.  A stump in T/58 was partially removed.  Two bone fragments were found - one partially burned.

The orangeware fragments in T/59 were cleaned around.  These appear to be from the same vessel as the fragments lifted yesterday.  Photographs of these fragments in situ were taken.  A tree root grows over these sherds.

Several lip fragments to a number of vessels were found in U/58.  Much orangeware pottery is found as well.  One piece of modern glazed pottery was discovered also.  OF particular interest is a fragment of a ridgepole acroterion found in U/58.

P.M.

The ground surface in Q-U/56 was cleared of stones - one wheelbarrow full.  The second cut, 40 cm from the surface at Q, was completed to Q-U/57.  Tree stumps were removed from S/57 and Q-R/57.  Very little plaster has been found.  Tile fragments are badly worn.  Orangeware and coarseware pottery has been found in these grids - all of it badly worn.  The orangeware fragments in T/59 were lifted and brought to the magazino.
