The southern balk wall was trimmed this morning along with the last remaining meter of the western balk wall, which is the southern part of this wall. Approximately two dozen small fragments of terracotta were recovered along with seven sherds of pottery.
The central sector of the trench that is occupied by a depression filled with stones, running roughly west to east, was designated locus 6 .
Opening Co-ordinates of locus 6:
NW (65-E/41.6-S): 118 cm. below datum point = 26.6 m. above absolute elevation.
NE (67.4-E/42.5-S): 120 cm. below datum point = 26.58 m. above absolute elevation.
SE (67.1-E/43.3-S): 123 cm. below datum point = 26.55 m. above absolute elevation.
SW (65-E/42.4-S): 116 cm. below datum point = 26.62 m. above absolute elevation.
Opening co-ordinates were laid out and depths measured, but no photographs were taken, and excavation was not begun.
