Work continued joining the cuts from east and west across 89-90. In J-K/89 "dump soil" was again encountered. This varied from the darker soil in 88 by being lighter in consistency and color due to heavy amounts of disintegrated plaster. A few fragments of tile and ceramic were found here as before. Quite a large amount of plaster did come out of the "dump" area, about 1 cassetta as opposed to very little tile. Once in 90 moving east the soil again became darker in color, heavier in consistency and contained very little material.

Moving from the east towards the west in I/90-91 a large amount (one cassetta) of tile was removed as was very little plaster. A piece of pithos rim and several body fragments also were found. Until H/90-91, however, the soil was the darker, heavier type. Once in H (going north), however, at 30-40 cm down the same type of soil as that surrounding the tile-pithos-rock concentration came up. This contained some plaster and red and black burn as redware as well as a piece of fine molded redware. In general, only about 172 boxes of mixed pottery found found across

T-26 this morning. Almost all came from H-I/90-91 and included all types.

The cut extended all the way across from 92-86. In I/86-87 at a depth of 40-50 cm a soil change was noted. Back in J and Southern I the soil was brown and heavy with tile, pithos, and ceramic. In northern I the lower half of the cut (about 30-50 cm below surface) was a light soil with much disintigrated yellow-red plaster in it and plaster chunks. Very little tile, ceramic or bone came from here. Almost nothing as yet was burned. Because of the depth of material and the facility of digging the soil this area may be an old dumpsite despite the presence of grey brown soil over its top.

Moving east the area arround the tile-pithos and rock area continued to exhibit the plastery soil with burn area and 1/2 latte box (plus finds) of mostly fineware. Also one piece of ivory came from this same area.
