Boxes of tile: 2

Boxes of pottery: 2

Grids D-E/28-30 were excavated this morning up to the edge of the galestra layer residing in grids A-C/28-30.  Part of the galestra stratum was removed down to a tightly packed area of large stones which may prove to be the natural bedrock of the slope.

Material unearthed in the brown soil of grids D-E/28-30 included some bucchero fragments, coarseware chunks, and a box of pan tile pieces.  Section E-28 yielded part of a terracotta rosette.

A second cut was started in grids F-G/28-30 through a brown soil layer intermixed with a small stone packing and tile fragments.
