Description | Locus 4, the topsoil of the northern extension, consisted of a dark brown/gray soil. The soil was very dry and brittle from being baked in the sun. Much organic material was present within this locus, namely superficial plants/weeds and roots; Locus 4 was the humous layer. Practically no material was uncovered from this locus (1 sherd of pottery or .31% of the total 319 sherds discovered in CB-46). Additionally this locus is very shallow, with an average depth of 12cm. As topsoil, the material uncovered offers no contextual information. Locus 4 was conflated with Locus 1 and Locus 5. |
