Description | Stair bedding for a staircase, built up against the Portico Wall string course and wall courses, and leading to the doorway discovered in the east end of the Portico Wall. Made of chunks of sandstone mortared together, it was discovered in cleaning operations on the Roman Street and not fully excavated. |
