Description | Doorway/threshold, set into the Portico Wall in the northeast part of the trench, and allowing access to the room floored with small hexagonal pavers. The threshold feature is not well preserved and shows only irregular sandstone chunks mortared together; this is in fact most likely bedding for a threshold block that might have been made of limestone or marble. The west door jamb is not preserved; the jamb might exist on the east but this area was unexcavated. |
