Bonds to | Presumably Locus 3. |
Description | Locus 10 has a tightly placed header and stretcher construction of four courses high, which is composed of rough-hewn sandstone ashlars. Although Locus 15 obscures the foundation of this wall, it would be fruitful to continue excavations to the north along the wall not only to explore Locus 15 but also to see if Locus 3 and 10 bond or abut. The foundation wall was necessary to create a level platform for the construction of the temple upon the bedrock platform which is extant at a greater height in the south. The excavator is surprised at the discrepancy between the bedrock in the East Plaza area and the East Pronaos. |
