Description Locus 1 is a very dark brown topsoil rick with organics such as leaves, twigs,and roots. Small rocks are present, along with pottery, bone, and terracotta. There is also a significant amount of vitrified terracotta and iton slag. Locus 1 contained areas of white discoloration dur to root rot. Once through the organics, locus 1 remained consistent, however lacking the density of organics found in the hummus layer. Significant finds include worked antler (20120075, 20120090), forno fragment (20120083), and vitrified terracotta (20120139).
