Work began by picking the eastern most meter of CA 73. The rock in the south east continues to be exposed and is of a much larger size than previously seen. A hand pick was used in this area due to placement of the rock. In this pick pass bone and pottery were immediately found. The soil in this section has ceased to be the very dark brown, organic rich topsoil. it is looser and lacks the roots, twigs, and other organics associated with the hummus layer. The central meter was picked and the soil sorted before being removed from the trench. Some pottery, bone, and terracotta has been found. The western meter was picked and the soil sorted. Roots and some organics are present throughout the trench but at a much lesser density than the hummus layer. Once this section was completed, picking was done in the eastern meter once again, exposing the rock, roots, pottery, and bone. While working in the south eastern corner a piece of worked antler (special find #1) was found. The remainder of this pick pass was completed.

Picking was done in the central meter where bone, pottery, and terracotta is being uncovered. The soil remains consistent although organics continue to decrease. Rocks and larger pieces of terracotta are being uncovered in this central area and will continue to be defined. Picking done in the western meter. A large rock in the northwest has been revealed and is defined. The barrier between CA 73 and CA 71 was lowered until level with CA 73. Roots clipped and loose soil collected and dumped.
