Description This not very impressive East-West Wall is composed of hewn and unhewn, sandstone blocks, approximately 0.30 m-0.50 m in length, a few re-used ashlars (the only stones which are dressed) and small rocks. One small worn column drum (P/ST C4/1213, diameter 0.48 m) was loosely incorporated into its fabric and was removed to the lapidary during cleaning. Mud mortar seems also to have been used in the wall's construction. The north and south faces are fairly neatly built, in header and stretcher fashion, with smaller rocks and mud used to fill the interior — clearly this was a division wall, not a load-bearing wall. Where it is built-up against the northwest face of Vartan column, it has served to preserve in situ some of the column's red plaster decoration. A doorway originally existed through the wall, 2.0 m from its west end. This doorway, now filled by Locus 14, doorway blockage, measured 1.42 m. In heavy cleaning of this wall, a small amount of pottery was discovered — it consisted of mainly jar/jug or cook-pot body sherds, with a few late-looking jar rims.
