Stage Description | Temple distyle columns erected. |
Description | The blocky sandstone anta forming the northeast corner of the interior colonnade and the rear of the Temple porch (with the massive Vartan and Muhammad columns to the west). Approx. 1.27 m wide and preserved to a height of 2.59 m, it is the mirror image of the Patricia anta to the west. Projecting square pilasters decorate the east and west faces in the north, and the east and west faces of the south part (where the north face of the Loa engaged column attaches to the flat south face of the anta block). There is also a late cut straight through the anta, creating a staircase and east west passage from the East Corridor to the floor of the pulpitum (again, mirroring the Patricia anta; see Loci 26, 45, 66 below). |
