Description Locus 2 contains the same soil as locus 1, it is light brown in color and represents the southernmost 76-centimeters of the sounding in which is contained a small packing of small flat stones that seem to have some relation to the rock packing found in the north east of CA 83. The goal of opening this locus was to further define the rock feature and to further explore the hypothesis of the existence of a floor surface that was proposed with the closing of Locus 8 in CA 70 – 2012 sounding. Locus 2 produced a few small pickings of charcoal as well as the fewest amount of pottery, bone, and slag for all of the loci and contained no metal artifacts.
