Definition | Soil Deposit between Loci 9A and 9B Floor Pavers and Locus 11B Subfloor |
Description | Soil deposit in the area of the missing Loci 9A and 9B floor pavers. This was a fine, compacted soil with a consistency ranging between silt and sand. The Munsell Color was 7.5 YR 5/4 (Brown). The deposition process appears to have been sedimentation after the floor pavers were either destroyed by collapsed ashlars from Wall Locus 8 or robbed out once the room went out of use. Excavation of the deposit yielded no small finds. |
Phase Description | Phase VIII: Brief (?) period of abandonment marked by a thin layer of (largely) chocolate brown clean soil. ... |
