Description | This locus consists of north-south oriented sandstone pavers in irregularly spaced bands. The length of the pavers varies from 0.6 m to 0.2 m long-x-0.2 m to 0.42 m wide. The sandstones are in poor condition showing a high degree of exfoliation. Some areas show signs of battering. The Locus 19 exposed bedding area to the north and the Locus 20 capstones show evidence of robbing during the abandonment period. This corresponds with the paving from the Pronaos shown in Trenches 12, 23 and 24. The paving area probably ended in an abutment with the Locus 21 stairway. |
