Caption | Overview of the Friday mosque at Jarash, looking south (June 2013). In both Phase 1 and 2 the mosque was separated from adjacent urban structures by streets, with the main entrance on the north (Phase 1) subsequently blocked in Phase 2 and substituted with major access points from the east and west. The re-erected columns on the south side of the street in front of the mosque date to the 1960s; the original columns of the street were dismantled with the building of the Phase 1 mosque |
