The morning began with a pick pass in the eastern section of the trench using heavy pickaxes and trowels. The soil is still dense but is rocky and dry from baking in the

sun. The loose soil is hand sorted into buckets.

Another pick pass was thrown in the eastern end of the trench. The elevation in the east is higher than that of CB-61 so we hope to match their elevation in hopes to find archaic material as well.

After sorting through loose dirt in the eastern end of the trench, we observed that the amount of material we recovered was much less than the amount found in the western end. We did another pick pass in the eastern section of the trench using heavy pickaxes. While sorting through the loose soil, two separate conjoint pieces of a pythos fragment was found (Special Find #1)

The afternoon began with throwing a pick pass at the very end of the western section of the trench. The soil is less compact and dry and is easy to sort through. The dirt was hand sorted and thrown into the wheelbarrow.

Another pick pass was thrown with a heavy pickaxe in the eastern section of the trench. The dirt is brittle and dark in color. The dirt was hand sorted and dumped into the wheelbarrow.

Towards the end of the day, part of the northern baulk wall of the trench was trimmed.
