It was decided to give a new locus designation to the lighter colored soil between the outcropping bedrock and stones. Photos were taken and an opening locus drawing was made. 

This will be called Locus 2.

Locus 2 Munsell Designation: 10YR 4/2 Dark Grayish Brown

 

Work began is Locus 2. We used minipicks and trowels to break up the soil. The soil is flaky and loose in texture and yellow-brown in color. We excavated approximately 0.10 meters deep in the locus. No material

Culture was recovered.

 

As the trench is now comprised of bedrock and sterile soil it was decided to close the trench down.

 

Closing photos and a drawing were completed. Closing elevations were also taken.
