The floor of the S.E. building was cleaned for several hours.  Grids T/57-58 were taken down to the level of the third cut, 60 cm from surface at Q.  A few pieces of assorted pottery were found.  Worn tile fragments filled one half of a cassetta.  Little plaster was encountered.

80 cm cut was pushed to grid Q/57.  This cut takes us down to a soil change; the next cut will actually take us into the different soil, which is yellow-brown in color.  Carbon is found at this 80 cm level, but it doesn't run through the entire grid.  Pottery fragments of all fabrics are common to this cut.  There seems to be a high percentage of lips and bases.  Some bone was found as well.

R/57-58 was brought down to 80 cm level.  This cut produced assorted pottery, bone, and bronze fragments (Photographs of this cut were taken).

V/55-56 continues to be cleaned.  A heavy tile and plaster layer seems to exist at 80 cm below surface at U.

Soil in R/57-58 was full of rocks.  Carbon shows up, but is very rare.  Pottery is more plentiful than tile fragments.  All fabrics are represented.  Several examples of bases, rims, and handles were found.  Two tall latte boxes were filled with pottery from this cut.  Over one dozen bronze fragments were found.
