Today work began on lifting the stone formation (locus 8) and excavating horizontally area beneath it encompassing N 3-4, W 2-3. As the first layer of stones was lifted a second, more irregular packing was defined at a depth of approximately 30 cm b.d. Stones ranged in size from 4 to 18 cm, and soil within which they were impacted was olive brown [ 2.5 Y 4/3] This second layer of stones was designated as locus 10. Drawing was made and photos were taken. No archaeological material was recovered from locus 10. Soil around the stone packing, below first layer, and

soil to the west of locus 10 continued to be locus 4.

After a second layer of stone packing was lifted a drawing was made again and photos were taken. At this point the depth was approximately 35 cm b.d. and most stones were removed.

After all stones were lifted from the soil, the area was leveled down to the height of locus 4 and 7 portions excavated yesterday. Soil underneath stone packing and yesterdays locus 4 (olive brown soil) were designated as locus 11.

Locus 4 finds today included
