Boxes of tiles: 8

Boxes of pottery:

The area was extended towards the east (A-C/21-23). A strip of 30 cm was left by the northern wall of the upper building. The trench is now touching Eva Rystedt's trench from the previous year (see ER 1 1971).

The strip of 30 cm between A-C/12-15 and A-C/15-18 was removed in order to establish the relationship between the grids. The same yellowish-brown or light brown soil was seen at the 60 cm depth. During the removal of D/10.35-12, 15-25 cm depth, there was some badly fired, irregularly shaped blocks of terracotta.

Most of the tiles were gotten from the clearing of the strip in D/10.35-12.

The extended area's upper stratum is made up of greyish yellow soil, followed by the layer of dark red soil with roof tiles, coarse pottery, and carbon content. The continuation of the pile of compact stones is also observed to the east through meters A-B/18-23.

The excavation of the strip that was left (D/10.35-18) was finished to the level that had been left from previous years (D-F and part of G/19-23).
