Picking was done in the western half of CB-39. The soil remains consistent with Locus 1 , containing rocks of various sizes and organic material. In the northwest corner many fragments of modern iron are being recovered. Also, an unusual piece of rock that is gray with red inclusions that is extremely sandy when broken. While picking in the middle meters of the trench, a significantly greater amount of tile in large fragments began to be exposed. A greater amount of pottery has been found that the previous day although the soil is still the olive brown gray throughout the entire trench.

More tile has been exposed in the southern half of the trench, it has been left in situ and is being defined using trowels and hand picks while a big pick is used in the northeast. The trench was leveled around the tile fall. A piece of unusually thick terracotta, possibly a statue fragment came loose from the soil (special find #1). Work was suspended for the rest of the afternoon due to rain.
