Because of wet conditions, the cut in the burn layer in V/54-55 was not continued today. Instead, a 5 cm cut was completed in meters U/54-56. This cut took the level of the trench in these meters from 75-85 cm across from 54 to 56 from the relative point. The depth of this cut took the level to just above the burn layer.
The soil here was gray/green with pockets of green or golden/yellow schyst. 1/3 a latte box of pottery was found in U/54-55 and 1/2-3/4 a latte box of pottery was found in U/56. Much of the pottery from all 3 meters is burned and includes bucchero. No plaster or tile fragments were found. A bronze arrowhead was found 72 cm down in U/56. Also, it seems we are encountering the line of rock concentration coming from T-25 in meter 56. These rocks run roughly N to S.
