AM

Since no end of day elevations were taken yesteday, work began by taking elevations across the entire trench.

46 E / 49 S: 40 cm BD / 25,93 m AE

50 E / 49 S: 38 cm BD / 25,95 m AE

50 E / 53 S (north of the string): 63 cm BD / 25,70 m AE

50 E / 57 S: 82 cm BD / 25,51 m AE

46 E / 57 S: 70 cm BD / 25,63 m AE

46 E / 53 S (north of the string): 54 cm BD / 25,79 m AE

Digging began in locus 4 , levelling it with the rest of the trench. The surface of the entire trench is now roughly level (following the slope of the area). Since no real difference in soil can be seen, the entire area of the trench, with the exception of a small area around the stump in the NE section of the extension, was declared locus 5 .

*For closing elevations of locus 4 , see p. 53

Pickpasses were made (using the big pick) in the southern half of the extension. The soil is greyish brown as before and filled with small rocks. Several pieces of slag were found (see AM special finds). All of the terracotta finds were worn and abraided.
