Work continued in the Tesoro Trench 18, the North Extension. In the morning two workmen finished excavating the yellow soil stratum in grids P28- 30 to the level of the rocks. These rocks, though scattered and at uneven level, are perhaps part of an E-W crosswall. The stratum has produced considerably less bucchero here above the rocks -- also a few terracotta fragments and bones.
It was decided to extend the trench north to the end of meter P -- thus making the northern wall of the trench 16 meters from the foundation wall of the upper building. The purpose of the extension is to determine whether these rocks lying in grids P 28-32 are in fact the northern foundation wall of this room.
