Condition | Broken into three pieces, restored. One large chip, other small chips and cracks around breaks; worn. Middle fragment preserves less smoothness and is more incrusted than the other two. Approximately two-thirds of spoon tip missing. |
Description | Spoon fragment preserving most of recessed bowl with upward-curving tapered edges which become a curved moulding below area for attachment to handle. In center of moulding, on central axis of bowl, a recessed circular hole for insert of different material. Bowl ends in a rectangular carved base for the handle attachment which consists of square ivory dowel set in circular hole. |
