Stage Stage 2
Description A single course of four sandstone ashlars running north-south visible in the east balk of Trench 47. The feature is slumping down toward the northwest. This is probably part of a central platform constructed in the middle of the Orchestra Floor although it is impossible to say anymore at this time since most of the feature is still concealed within the unexcavated Fill/Debris in the east half of the Theater. (Seq. 47421).
Stage Description Addition of the Theater with the construction of the cavea, orchestra, intercolumnar walls, twin vaulted chambers, East and West Interior Staircases and the Central Arch.
Relations Covered and sealed by Locus 13 Fill/Debris. Locus 16 Fill runs up to its west face. Built on top of Floor Locus 17. Its east side is concealed within the east balk of this trench.
Size Measurements: 1.70 m in length (north-south as visible in the balk); 0.40 m in width (east -west as visible in the balk) — these measurements are taken from the three articulated blocks and fragments of a fourth block sticking out of the balk.
