Description | This is not an articulated layer, but rather a stratum of rubble fill. It consists of both hewn and unhewn boulders, broken dressed ashlars, wadi/field stones, pebbles and soil. The soil component consists of a mixture of silt, sand, and granules with a Munsell Color between 7.5 YR 5/4 4/4 (Brown). A small selection of pottery, bone and metal were recovered. This stratum is a part of the secondary construction event related to the blockage of the vaults (Tr. 97 2004 Loci 12 and 14). |
