Description | There is a hole in the Inter-Columnar wall (Locus 5) where the third column from the south once stood. It was originally thought that the column had been knocked-out to serve as a doorway to a possible structure; however, no structure was found (see Locus 9 above). Although it is not a doorway to a structure, Locus 6 still appears to have been deliberate destruction. This conclusion was reached because of the size of the hole and the absence of the bottom column drum when all the others in the immediate vicinity have survived. There is some evidence suggesting that there may have been a structure in Trench 36 to which this hole/doorway could belong. |
