Stage Stage 3
Description The lowest layer of fill excavated beneath the shaft in the southeast of the cistern. After this locus was closed, excavation of a test trench along the cistern’s east wall was begun. Present in this fill was a large amount of pottery and the usual artifactual material, including more painted wall plaster, particularly green, than found in previous loci. The soil itself was packed and hard with many stones and had a Munsell soil color of 7.5YR4/4, Brown.

Location In southeast of SP 85 cistern below shaft opening.
