Description Locus 1 consists of a loose, dark grayish brown topsoil, Munsell 10YR 4/2. After the ash deposit (Locus 3) was deposited, there was accumulation of loose soil and debris (Locus 1). It is contaminated, for it has been exposed for many years and is the uppermost layer.
