Description Locus 8 is defined by the L shaped perpendicular stone feature made up of 5 flat and relatively square stones. This line of rocks extends south in CA 72, although everything excavated from within the feature was recorded in the CA 73 trench book. The soil within locus 8 is sandy and very fine. The surface was backed and light in color although the soil is actually a medium brown. The soil contains organics such as roots and twigs and minimal amounts of pottery and bone. This locus contained vitrified terracotta and slag. The locus 13 sounds was done within the boundaries of locus 8.
