Condition Broken on left side; joined from three fragments and one chip; to be cleaned - preserves much paint.
Description Fragment preserves right side of frieze plaque, including right side and corners and much of bottom and top edges; scene preserves entire first horse (chipped through top of neck) and rider, entire second horse and rider, and third horse and rider to center of rider, where plaque is broken. Preserves traces of paint, partially visible: white paint is apparently applied over red - white on strigils and in checkerboard pattern on and around studs; vertical band from bottom of strigils between studs, horizontal band below lower level of studs, and on at least some studs; white over red apparently on entire first horse and rider; red possibly on second horse, with thick white on mane area, and reins, with white rider; white on head, chest and possibly rider of third horse; traces of red and white on background not yet clear.
